2023 Finals Day

BDBA FINALS DAY HELD AT HAROLD HILL BC ON 2 SEPTEMBER 2023

The finals were played under the shadow of the death in the week before of Colin Morton. Colin was a great supporter of BDBA competitions, routinely entering all 6 competitions. A minute's silence was held before the start of the morning's play. Colin had qualified for the finals of the 2 wood pairs and the 2 wood triples competitions. Romford fielded a substitute for Colin in each of the finals. Tributes to Colin were made by Mike Long and Dave King before the first of those finals. We were pleased to welcome Colin's widow, Neeta, to hear the tributes and watch the finals.

Singles Final

Mick Rigby (Haynes Park) beat David Barbone (Brentwood) 21-9.

Rink Final

Dave Cocklin, Peter Horne, Terry Brown, Barry Sutton (Kings Chase) beat Dave Woodall, Glenn Sanders, Roy Pasons, Ray Bell (Rainham) 19-18

2 Wood Triples Final

Tony Lindfield, Trevor Sayer (substitute for Colin Morton) & Mike Portway (Romford) beat Joe Blackhall, Graham Killington & Mick Rigby (Haynes Park) 1.5 sets to 0.5 (12-3, 7-7).
